I stumbled upon this old gnarled evergreen tree "surviving" along the Chain Lakes Loop trail near Iceberg Lake.
There was something about it that drew me in, so I captured several images of it. All were in color. I even made a few with some of my fellow hikers sitting in front of it. The part that fascinated me was its spiritual quality. As I began to work on the post-processing, I found the color in the image distracting. Eventually, I became convinced that Black and White portrayed the most appropriate "feeling." It was almost as if the story of Sasquatch might just become believable. There are many elemental signals I came to see as I worked on this image. I will let you be the interpreter. What do you see?
