"Monday, Monday" seemed like a great title for this foggy and moody image. I can faintly hear the Mamas And The Papas singing that iconic hit and invoking a nostalgic feeling. Ah yes, I am that old.
In the fall near where I live in Bellingham, Washington, numerous cottonwood groves tower over much of the lower forest canopy. On foggy mornings, I always enjoy the challenge of capturing those moments of glorious light where the conditions are just right. There has to be a layer of fog that obscures the sun the perfect amount so the sun is still visible, but not so bright it blows out the silhouette of the giant celestial life-giving orb. If luck is on your side as a creative photographer, barely detectable light beams and highlights can add depth and fascination to the final image.
