This is the Premium Limited Editon of "First Light" (limited to 50 prints only). When the morning comes, there is something incredibly special about the sparkling sensation of light piercing through the yellow leaves of birch trees. I wish I could say I sat at this location and recorded it with a paint brush, but my trusty Nikon and digital tools combined to craft a personal impression that is s step beyond "straight" photography.

Generally speaking, "First Light" is part of a collection of impressionist style image creations. For me, it is a diversion from "straight photography". Some would argue that it is not photography at all. It is my own creative direction that pushes me to render images in this manner. They always start out as a captured photograph and may sometimes be composites of several images. I use various digital painting tools to create the final piece to mimic impressionism. The end results always allow for advanced personal interpretations in the color rendering decisions and more control over the color palette. The texture of brush stroke offers a freedom of expression that gives me an enjoyable and considerably creative break from the modern photographic process.

All limited edition prints are printed with at least 1 inch of blank white paper surrounding the image. I title, number and sign the piece in this white area. Finished and approved prints are sandwiched between vellum sleeves and rolled up to fit into an appropriate sized shipping tube. A "certificate of Authenticy is also provided.
