I have been a photographer for over 40 years, creating fine art prints for the art market. My journey began in 1980 when I committed to the idea of becoming a creative photographer. I purchased several cameras and enlargers. I negotiated access to a chemical photo finishing facility and more.

The very competitive arena of street fairs was my world for several several years. Marketing and selling became a new animal for me, but I persevered. Fast forward to 1992, my first gallery/work studio opened. In 2001 I opened a new gallery/work studio in an upscale area of Bellingham. In 2008, the gallery was closed for many reasons. I floundered through photo retouching and video work until 2018.

In 2019, I decided to fully jump back into Fine Art Photography. I dabbled with a few other online venues like Saatchi Art, and Zatista but they lacked something called "ownership". Then I found the Art Storefronts platform, signed up for a demo and after some soul searching, I bought into the platform. I am glad I did. In the two years since I became a member, I have consulted with many about the benefits of that membership. I am always happy to share that information. There are so many reasons it's hard to list them all. The most influential ones are listed below:

1. Ecommerce is the bomb. The auto-fulfillment feature is linked to a print vendor (I use BayPhoto) that receives your orders, prints them, and ships/tracks them directly to the customer. I also have Premium Limited Edition print offers that I personally fulfill. I have an outstanding Epson P9000 44-inch printer in my workspace to print images as large as 40 x 60 and 30 x 70.
2. This online platform has increased my branding ability locally. I use this e-commerce site to service and supply local clients at a much greater success rate. I also offer to deliver and install at no added expense.
3. One of the most important reasons is support. It is (absolutely) top on the line. ASF support is phenomenal. Online chat is available for technical issues. Regularly scheduled zoom meetings are available to discuss technical problems, marketing techniques, and business practices. These meetings are available to all members. They have become an inspirational and practical source of much-needed help and information.
4. ASF is the best at having a marketing team to improve my own marketing and business practices.
5. It's a robust platform. You own your website. You have total control of the sales process. You own your customer information, and access to it is easy.
6. Several of my favorite features to success are The Marketing Vault, The Marketing Calendar, Art Business University, Art Marketing Podcasts, Live Marketing Workshops (recorded replays are available also), and the Small Wins FB group. All these are readily available to members.
